In Italia si aspetta il treno in ritardo, l'autobus che non passa, il postino che un giorno decide di non consegnare la posta, si aspetta che la segretaria finisca di parlare a telefono con la suocera, che l'operatore torni dalla pausa caffé, magari si aspetta che il capo si presenti in ufficio. Si aspetta che l'agenzia delle entrate, il catasto, la camera di commercio, l'ufficio anagrafe o l'avvocato ti richiamino, si aspettano 3 mesi per un esame in ospedale, si aspetta che al telefono ti passino l'incaricato giusto, che, anche se giusto, probabilmente non risolverá il problema. L'Italia é il paese in cui la neve paralizza una cittá, la nebbia rallenta i treni e la pioggia si fa aspettare solo d'estate. In Italia aspetti che i politici cambino, ma anche quando cambia lo schieramento al Governo, loro restano uguali a se stessi. E tu aspetti.

In England you wait in line for the tube, for the bus, for your ticket, sometimes for your lunch too. Definitely for a concert. England is the place where you wait for a bank account that they can't open until you have a proof of address, you wait for a proof of address that you can't have because without a bank account you might not find a job and without a job you can wait for a while before a landlord will accept you as a tenant. You wait for the next train in the tube during rush hours and if someone needs an ambulance in oxford street or surroundings during shopping-rush-hours, he/she will wait forever.

probosta di abolizione del vitalizio per i parlamentari: RESPINTA

Martedí 21 settembre 2010: si riunisce la nostre amata Camera dei Deputati per la seduta giornaliera.
Gli on. Borghesi e Mura fanno un tentativo di riportare la casta dei politici sulla Terra, cercando di limitare i privilegi di cui godono a ció che é necessario perché possano esercitare la professione. Il vitalizio concesso dopo soli 5 anni di duro é un insulto a chi deve lavorare 40 anni per una pensione (spesso ridicola). Ecco quindi la proposta per l'abolizione.

Dai dati che seguono si evince quanto maggioranza e opposizione vadano a braccetto quando si tratta di questioni delicate.

Estratto dagli atti parlamentari della seduta (fonte camera.it):

Per quanto riguarda l’ordine del giorno Borghesi n. 9/Doc. VIII, n. 6/5, gli onorevoli Borghesi e Mura chiedono la soppressione dell’assegno vitalizio per i deputati in carica e per quelli cessati dal mandato, con contestuale assegnazione agli istituti previdenziali dei contributi versati.
Si sottolinea che l’istituto dell’assegno vitalizio contribuisce a tutelare il libero esercizio della funzione parlamentare in armonia con i principi costituzionali. Si tratta di un istituto oggetto di una recente ed incisiva riforma. Inoltre, la modifica proposta non appare opportuna anche in considerazione del fatto che l’assegno vitalizio – come anche rilevato da una sentenza della Corte costituzionale citata dagli stessi presentatori dell’ordine del giorno – non è tout court assimilabile ad una pensione, così come l’indennità parlamentare e lo stipendio di lavoro dipendente.
Pertanto, si invitano i presentatori a ritirare l’ordine del giorno, diversamente il parere sarebbe contrario.

Little Fish were Proud

Proud Camden. 3 years in London and I don't know how come I didn't see it before!
Interesting venue, but mostly incredible list of bands playing there almost every night.

Anyway, I went there on the 8th of this month (yes, it's still September) to enjoy (again) Little Fish. I'm definitely a fan, a fish fan, not getting tired of them. Not even a beat.
You should check their first album Baffled & Beat.

I was lucky enough to get a free entry for myself and a friend, because I was asked to take pictures, which is something I really love, so double lucky me!

Little Fish were great, I even introduced myself to Juju, which seemed a very nice person, not as crazy as on stage and I mean it in a good way, since I like her crazyness.

Holly Miranda played yesterday at the Westminster Reference Library and rocked it out.

The atmosphere was great, even though the audience wasn't participative as i wish they would, but, hey, we are in England, right?

Holly's voice is captivating and charming, the sound she and Timmy Mislock create with guitars is dark and grunge-ish enough, Will Carl Cameron on bass and David Jack Daniels complete the set. Big fat full rock band in a library. Awesomeness.

I was lost in world of sound and dreams.
